Obituary of Paul Millinghausen

Harry Paul Millinghausen, born on August 23, 1951, in Philadelphia, passed away after a long illness on June 18, 2026. He was a devoted husband to Sharon, a loving father to Elizabeth (Dennis Bieryla) and John (Jen), and grandfather to Joe, Jack, Emily, Ryan and Danny.

He was the beloved son of the late Mary I. and Henry P. Millinghausen. Paul is survived by his sisters, Carol and Donna (Koenig); his nieces and nephews, Kristi, Albert (A.W.), and Greg; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jake, Lucas, Albert (Wheeler), Londyn, and Hana; and many beloved cousins. Paul was a graduate of Chestnut Hill Academy. He earned his bachelor's degree in English Literature at Ursinus College. He served the public working for the Social Security Administration beginning his long career as a claims representative and held various managerial and administrative positions in the local Philadelphia, Norristown, and West Chester offices and the Philadelphia Regional office. His career in public service was marked by hard work, mentoring, and dedication, earning him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Paul was a true Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Flyers, holding season tickets for many years during the “Broad Street Bullies’ era where he witnessed first-hand the raising of Lord Stanley’s Cup. He loved the outdoors and found great joy in being in/on the woods and waters of the mountains and the Jersey shores, protecting the environment and nurturing animals.  He was an avid hockey player, spending many hours playing and enjoying the brotherhood of the men’s league teammates. He also enjoyed coaching youth sports – hockey, soccer and baseball and watching his beloved grandkids on baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts and of course, the hockey rinks. He followed in his father’s footsteps in reprocessing “junk” for recycling, was a natural tinkerer and handyman, and had an incredible knack for fixing anything that was broken especially with being able to put his accumulated “junk” to good use.

Paul cherished every moment spent with his family and friends, whether he was hosting annual family celebrations and bar-b-ques, watching a hockey game and music videos from his friend Tony’s eclectic and vast collection, or sharing meals and libations. He was known for his unwavering kindness and devotion to those he loved. Above all else, nothing compared to the deep devotion and love he had for his wife, Sharon; his daughter, Elizabeth; his son, John; and his grandkids, Joe, Jack, Emily, Ryan and Danny.

Paul will be profoundly missed and remembered for his kindness, warmhearted spirit, and generosity.    

There will be a Visitation on Thursday June 25th held at Lownes Family Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm and Friday June 26th from10:00-11:00am with a Celebration of Life immediately following. 

Paul will be cremated at the conclusion of the services.
