Obituary of Genevieve M. Paxson

Genevieve M.(Baird) Paxson, age 79 of Lafayette Hill went peacefully to heavenly rest on Thursday (1/26/2012) surrounded by her loving family. She was a retired School Teacher Mrs. Paxson was born in Camden, NJ, the daughter of the late David and the late Grace Stephenson Baird. Wife of the late Harold K. "Nick" Paxson. Graduate of Haddonfield H.S and University of Delaware, where received her teaching degree and met her beloved late husband Harold "Nick" and has now connected 5 generations to the "Fighting Blue Hen" alumnae tradition. Mrs. Paxson augmented her teaching degree with Montessori certification at Raven Hill and also taught at Plymouth Meeting Freinds School along with preschool at the Holland School in Norristown for many years. She was an active member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill, a place that she enjoyed many friendships and was involved with their CCD program, the womens prayer group and was a Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered as a tutor for children and for over 22yrs. she brought Holy Communion to the residents at the Andorra Woods Nursing Center along with other nursing homes in the area. Her hobbies included Arts and crafts and enjoyed music and playing the piano. She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Urban MD (Joseph) of Severna Park, MD, Suzanne P. Hicklin M.P.T.(William) of Chalfont, PA one brother: Thomas Baird of Haddonfield, NJ 5 Grandchildren-Matthew,Billy,Danny,Jonathan,Jeffrey, Predeceased by her brother David Baird. Friends may call Tuesday 1/31/2012 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be in the George Washington Memorial Park, .
