Obituary of Frank J Sylvester
Frank "Rail" Sylvester of the Masonic Village in Lafayette Hill formerly of Plymouth Meeting died Sat. June 30,2018 at the Masonic Village ,he was 85.
Born in the Mogeetown section of Plymouth Township in 1933 to Margaret
and Nicolas Sylvester.He is survived by his wife Marilyn of ___58_years and
son Frank of East Norriton and his wife Diane and their children Evan (Natalie) Eric and Ethan.Also daughter Lori and her husband Michael Carlin of Marmora, N.J. and their children Cole,Reed and Skye.He is pre-deceased by his parents, brother John (survived by niece Janet) and sister Theresa.
He graduated from Norristown High School in 1951 where he lettered in
football, basketball and baseball. He was a 1955 graduate of Temple Univ.
with a B.S. in Bus. Adm. and was captain of the baseball team in his senior year.
His passion for baseball earned him a contract with the Phila. Phillies but his
minor league career was interrupted by the military draft.He played in the
Perky Valley Twilight league for many years after completing hIs stint in the U.S.
Navy.
His business career consisted of sales and marketing in the pharmaceutical
and medical electronics industries.
He enjoyed puttering in the yard, biking the Ocean City boardwalk and playing golf with his close friends. He loved his family and his greatest joy and source of pride came from his grandchildren.As a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, he dedicated his leadership and his service for over 50 years.
Memorial service Friday July 6, 2018 at 10:30am at the Masonic Village Auditorium-801 Ridge Pike,Lafayette Hill Pa. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 also in the auditorium.
