Obituary of Kathleen P. Suloff

Kathleen Suloff was born on April 16, 1949, in Abington, PA to Evelyn and William Parry. Raised in Chalfont by her loving parents, she played baseball, and spent many hours with her grandparents, her Aunt Mim and Uncle Ralph, and her cousins Neil, Beth, and Holly. Following her high school graduation from Central Bucks, she attended Beaver College majoring in Education and minoring in Music, her two greatest passions.

Kathy met her husband, Ed, on a blind date in 1967. The two never parted, marrying in 1971. After a time in Georgia, they returned to Philadelphia to begin their careers as educators. In 1976, they welcomed their first son Chris(topher), followed by their little “accident” Jonathan in 1978. The family loved each other through the years living on Kanes Road in Willow Grove and then on Hopegate Drive in Maple Glen. In 2009, she became “Hammie” to her grandson Gavin. Hammie and Gavin loved to do projects and go to the arboretum together. She loved him so much,he was able to convince her to go on the log flume on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk.

Kathy loved her family, her friends, and her church. Throughout the years, she welcomed in and cared for friends, neighbors, and others as though they were her own. She took particular delight in welcoming in family and friends alike for loud, ecumenical, joyous, and funny Christmas and Easter dinners.

Kathy loved to sing and carried her life as a song - flowing with love and purpose. In all things she would lift her voice strong and beautiful to praise God, to bring comfort to others, to care, to love, and to share words of wisdom. Her voice will be most missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 8 at Christ’s Lutheran Church in Oreland, PA with a time of visitation at 10:00 am and worship services beginning at 11:00 am. The family asks that memorial gifts be sent to Christ’s Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. The family would like to extend its deepest thanks to the many family, friends, and neighbors who have given so much care and comfort during this time.
