Obituary of Charles A. O'Brien

Charles A. O'Brien, age 90 of Normandy Farms Estates, Blue Bell formerly of Lafayette Hill and Plymouth Mtg. died Friday (1/25) in the medical wing of Normandy Farms. He was the former President and founder of O'Brien Business Systems Inc. Mr. O'Brien was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late John and the late Mary Heelan O'Brien. Husband of the late Catherine 'Cass" O'Brien who died in 1993. Mr. O'Brien was a proud graduate of Saint Thomas More H.S. in Phila. class of 1940.He was also a graduate of LaSalle College class of 1949. He attended Temple Univ. Law School and also was in the F.B.I. for 4 years in 1951. Mr.O'Brien served our Country during WW2 in the Army Air Corps. He coached little league and Biddy Basketball in Whitemarsh Twp. for many years along with CYO baseball. He was a member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and was a member of Saint Thomas More Alumni Assn. For many years he enjoyed traveling with his family to Avalon,NJ. and was an avid Phillies fan. He is survived by three sons: Dennis O'Brien of Blue Bell, PA, Kevin O'Brien (Marianne) of Blue Bell, PA, Michael O'Brien (Maureen) of Lower Gwynedd, PA 6 Grandcildren -Meghan,Stephen,Jessica,Shannon,Cassie and Patrick . Predeceased by his siblings- Jack,Ed and Helen Friends may call Thursday 1/31/13 from 6-8pm at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. and Friday 2/1/13 from 9:30-10:30am also at the Church, Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion. Contributions may be made to Saint Philip Neri Church.. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
