Obituary of Mary Sue Monte
Mary Sue Monte (Madden) of Philadelphia entered this life,June 15, 1929. She was born to Eternal Life, December 10, 2020. Mary Sue was the beloved wife of Quentin G. Monte,Jr. of Downingtown, Pennsylvania for 66 years.
Mary Sue was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Madden. She was a spinto soprano and the first soloist at Little FlowerHigh School and a graduate of the Philadelphia KarayConservatory of Music where she met Quentin. Mary Sue was a gifted vocalist and enjoyed performing as well as teaching music. A few of her favorite musical highlights were when she was asked to perform with the Philadelphia Opera Company and the Metropolitan Opera Company of New York City.
Besides her love of music, she was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her 6 children, Quentin G. Monte III and his wife Sherre, Lawrence Monte, Holly Monte Loughran and her husband John, Chris Monte and his wife Libby, Marrielle Monte Canales and her husband Luis, and Tara Monte.
Mary Sue and Quentin moved to Lafayette Hill, PA in 1958 and were members of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Mary Sue had a passion for volunteering at St Philip’s School, Church and the St Joseph’s Villa in Flourtown. Mary Sue had a love for the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey and enjoyed vacationing with her children and grandchildren there for many years.
She also leaves her grandchildren: Roxanne, Taryn, QuentinTyler, Ryanne, Kirstin, James, Montgomery, and one Great Grandchild, Grady Quinn Filson.
The Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 15th with a viewing at 10:00 am EST followed by a Mass at 11am at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, located at 437 Ridge Pike,Lafayette Hill, PA 19444. Burial will be held immediately following at Calvary Cemetery of West Conshohocken,located at 235 E. Matsonford Road in Conshohocken, PA 19428.
