Obituary of Marguerite A. Vawter

Mrs. Vawter, 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Meadowood following a lengthy illness. She was born in Philadelphia on January30, 1926 to the late Paul & Nellie(Gallagher) Allen.  Marguerite married Theodore E. Vawter on January 20, 1946at Corpus Christi Church, he preceded her in death on July, 02 1992.  She was a  member of St. Phillip Neri Church,Lafayette Hill.

Marguerite truely lived her faith in Christ Jesus. She quietly went about being an example of how to live a Christian life. Forgiving wrongs done her, but living for the joy in life.

Marguerite’s mother never recovered from the loss of her son Robert, in WWII. Even while raising four boys, she opened her house to her relatives, taking in and caring for her mother, father and aunt Anne.

She volunteered with Whitemarsh election polls and she was a member of the Philipians. She enjoyed gardening and her roses were spectacular. Reading and raising her golden retrievers were her staple. She spent many great afternoons, playing contract bridge. Traveling with her husband Ted, was one of Marge's greatest joys, her favorite trip being to Alaska.

She leaves behind many friends and family as she makes her final journey.She is survived by her sons Robert (Bob), Theodore (Ted), William (Bill), Richard and daughter-in laws Bonnie, Cari and Tracey ; six grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by Her sisters Elanor, Patricia and brother Robert.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated TuesdayAugust 31, 2021 at 11 am at St. Phillip NeriChurch. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  On Tuesday Family will be at church at 9:30 for the 11 am Mass. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Phillip Neri Church or the Phillypaws.org Animal Shelter. The Familywould like to extend a Thank you to the caregivers at Meadowood and Einstein Hospice team, for the wonderful care given to Mom in her time with them.
