Obituary of Antoinette Seymour
Antoinette (Toni) Farrar Seymour, 80, died peacefully on November 27, 2021, after losing her battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her parents, Jane Hearne Farrar Seymour and James Owens Seymour, her husband Albert (Bert) J. Lofgren, and her cousin Antoinette (Ann) Yawberg, Toni is survived by her cousins Caroline (Bill) Orrick, Jack (Betsy) Farrar and Betsy Edwards, as well as many other family members and friends, all of whom she dearly loved.
Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Toni graduated from the Columbus School for Girls in 1959. She graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1963 with a B.A. (cum laude) in History of Art. She then furthered her studies in the fine arts and urban design, earning a Four-Year Certificate from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and a MCP, City and Regional Planning, from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Arts. Her creative talents were evident in the multiple honors and awards she received for her paintings, sculptures and urban designs. Toni’s periodic trips to France and Monhegan Island (Maine) provided her with the opportunity to share on canvas the beauty of those areas which truly inspired her. Toni also had a passion for preserving and sharing the history of the communities in which she lived or was otherwise connected – her relationships with the Columbus (Ohio) Museum of Art, the Madison County (Ohio) Historical Society, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation being but a few examples.
