My deepest sympathy to Mr. Carwithen's family. I had the great privilege to meet and speak with Mr. Carwithen on several occasions at Masonic, having been introduced by a mutual friend. I told him I was honored to have met him and was in awe of his great talent.

My sincere condolences to the family and Christine! I met Robert through my late husband Earl who was in Robert’s oratorio choir in Germantown. I was and still am in awe of his talent. I will never forget how he could open up the organ to play magnificently. I had the pleasure of hearing him play again at Masonic Home these last few years as he blessed the residents with his talent. His love for the Lord was evident in all he did. What a blessing he was to so many!

He was my Uncle Robert. Dear friend of my parents who met him at FCG and sang in The Oratorio Choir along with my grandmother and aunt.
Many fond memories of him in our home and a record playing of a requiem by Brahms.
My brother is named for him.
He played at my father’s funeral many years ago. That service is memorable to many because of him.
RIP, Uncle Robert.

So many words come to mind when thinking about the man, Robert Carwithen. "Selfless, humble, generous" -- just to name a few. We are, all of us, diminished by his passing. "Rest eternal grant them, O Lord. And let light petpetual shine upon them."
