Obituary of Joseph R. Weidinger

Joseph Richard Weidinger, 74 years of age,  left for his next journey on Monday, September 5th.

Our dearly-loved Joe wanted to be remembered for his love of life, his love of family and his pets. He loved all sports, music, art, sunny days, all animals and kindness.  He plans to return to help others.  

Joe was born in Philadelphia, grew up in Manayunk, attended St. Mary’s grade school and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1965 followed by a two-year program at Temple School of Engineering.  He lived in Philadelphia until 1999 and then relocated to Plymouth Meeting, PA.  He retired in 2013 from Crane where he worked for 32 years.  During his retirement he became a team member with the Retired Men’s bowling league and played Bocce at the Plymouth Community Center.

Joe is survived by his wife and best friend Maria (Riccobono), his daughter Deborah, and son Joseph P (Michelle) and three grandchildren Ashley, Morgan and Ryan.  In addition, he is survived by his brother James. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph S. And Mary Weidinger and his sister Nancy Scarpiello.  

Family and friends are invited to visit and attend a short service on Saturday, September 10, at Lownes Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA 19444.  Visitation: 11 AM to 12:30 PM with a short service at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, please send any donation to North Shore Animal League America,  25 Davis Avenue, Port Washington, NY 11050 in Joe’s memory.
