Obituary of Alfred Ledder
Alfred H. Ledder, 94 of Lansdale PA, known as “Al” to his family and friends, went home to be with the
Lord on Friday November 25, 2022 at Brittany Pointe Estates. He was predeceased by his brother
William.
Al is survived by his wife Helga, sons Craig (wife Lynette), John (wife Rebecca) and four grandchildren,
Alyson (partner Shaun), Brian (wife Jessica), Lindsay, and Lauren (husband Drew). He is also survived by
his two nephews and their families, Bill and Tom Ledder. Helga and Al were happily married for 62
years.
Al was the son of German immigrants, William and Frieda, and was proud of his German heritage. He
grew up in the Philadelphia area and graduated from Roxborough High School (Class of 1946). He
worked a long and successful career in the banking industry and was in the Army Reserves. He was an
active, lifelong member of the Lutheran Church; most recently, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in North
Wales. He enjoyed a variety of activities including church choir, bowling, baseball, golf and travel. He
played basketball internationally with the bank Olympics. He especially enjoyed spending time with
family and friends. He frequently greeted his friends with a smile and a hello or short phrase in a
different language. Al was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike in Lafayette Hill on
December 3, 2022 at 10:00am with a service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at George Washington
Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Al’s name to St.
Peter’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 211 S Main St, North Wales PA 19454,
