Obituary of Ella M. O'Connor
Ella O’Connor, age 82, unexpectedly passed away on December 20th, 2022 in Bonita Springs FL. She is survived by her children Michael (Maryanne), Debbie (Joe) and Steven and by longtime loving companion John Zampetti. She was the beloved Grammy of Michael, Amanda, Danielle, Melissa, Erin, and Megan. Great grandmother of Bria and Nicholas. Ella is also survived by her brother Wilbur Heckrote (Judy), sister Linda Doran and sisters-in-law Betty Heckrote and Alice Gilkerson. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie, brothers Walter and Kenny and sister Naomi Heckrote.
Ella was born in 1940 and raised in Philadelphia. She graduated from Dobbins Technical High School. Ella was a lifelong homemaker who loved the job of raising her children. Her favorite times were with family and friends. She always was ready to host an event or picnic. She was an animal lover, especially of horses and her beloved Sundance. She was a natural athlete who loved to compete and who excelled in softball, tennis, golf, ping pong, bowling and bocce. She enjoyed horseback riding and trips to various ranches in the west. She loved to dance and her and John would find a reason to dance at every opportunity and could dance all night. She had a zest for life and was loved by all. She will surely be missed.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, Dec 27 at 11:00 AM at Saint Philip Neri Church 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill
A Visitation will be held before the mass in the church from 9:30 to 11:00 AM
Ella's Interment will take place following mass at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 3301 W Cheltenham Ave., Philadelphia
In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society
