Craig was a wonderful parent and deeply involved member of the Miquon School community, of which his daughter, Lara, was a graduate. One of my fondest memories of Craig was the day that he and I met at my house to create a new philosophy statement for Miquon, much of which is still present in what are now called the school's tenets. Although we had had some amicable disagreements in years past, we were entirely in concert about the essential values and goals of the school and the way in which we wanted to describe them.
He went on to take that unswerving dedication and profound insight to other communities in later years. I'm sure that he will be very much missed by the people in every institution with which he has been involved. I'm grateful to have known him.

I first met Craig in August of 1976 when he interviewed me for an engineering position at Okidata Corporation, where he was the Director of Product Development. A month later we started a decade’s long connection as I worked for and with him for thirty four of the next thirty six years. Over those years we collaborated on the design of ten different printers, interfaces and other products. Craig was a consummate professional and negotiator in his business dealings, as well as a down to earth and pragmatic engineer. He had that rare quality of giving credit to others when they saw a novel way to solve a problem. He set high goals for himself and others allowing those around him to reach new heights.
I have had the pleasure of working with two really smart engineers and people over my life whom I considered were my mentors. Craig had the most impact on me. I am grateful the opportunity he gave me in September of 1976 when he hired me. He made my life so much better on so many levels.
He will be missed!

Dear Lara and Gail,
I resonate with your description of Craig. That is, indeed, the man I remember. He was a presence! I recall his warmth and shared memories when ushering me over to the bar at Palmer House and his eloquence and ease in speaking at the top of that large flight of stairs at your wedding, Lara. As memorable as Craig is to me, I learned so much about him in his own statement that you included here. These were adventures I had not heard him speak of before. Last night, I had a dream about him. We were walking on opposite sidewalks. I crossed over to call to him. I do miss him.
Jan joins me in sending our love to you,
John Levenson & Jan Clark-Levenson
