Mary was preceded in death by her sister Catherine (McLoughlin) Bacon, brother John (Joan) McLoughlin

Mary is survived by Brother Luke (Jeanne) McLoughlin

Children Dominick Brian (Lorraine) Quinn, Timothy John Quinn, Kevin Michael Quinn (deceased)

Grandchildren Philip Brian (Jalyssa) Quinn, Andrew John (Jenny) Quinn, Michael Joseph Quinn, Casey Quinn (Kyle) Rodier

Great granddaughters Callan A. Quinn and Sybil Y. B. Quinn

Nieces Maryellen (Jack) McCarrick, and Rosemary Eberwine

Many other nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from Olney Commercial High School. She was talented in short-hand and typing which was later put to good use working for the American Legion. Not long after graduation she met and married her lifelong sweetheart, Dominick. They started a family and caring for both her immediate and extended families soon became her full-time job.

The family loved to travel and enjoyed many trips along the eastern seaboard from Maine to Miami, but her favorite was going to Ireland. Traveling with her family and pets ultimately led to many humorous memories. Mary loved having and caring for pets and they certainly loved her back especially for all the treats snuck under the dining room table. She loved to work in the garden and created a nice back yard for the family to enjoy.

Mary’s Catholic faith was a steadfast and enduring part of her life. In particular, she had a strong devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help and would frequently be seen praying for help and guidance. This devotion could be seen on a vanity plate for her car that read OMOPH which was meant as an open prayer to protect the vehicle and its passengers.

Mary and Dominick bought the Spruce Lodge Guest House in Ocean City, NJ. She loved people and would sit on the front porch for hours talking to her customers and listening to their stories. It became a popular place to stay mainly due to the hospitality of Mary and Dominick. They had this guest house for many years.

She used her typing skills and love of English to write poetry and to act as the family thesaurus. She was the one to call when debating spelling, proper usage, or when looking for alternative words. In this way she helped all three of her sons thru school and college. Years later, her grandchildren would also give her a call to ask for guidance while writing papers.

Mary was a loving and caring person and always had a smile on her face and a kind word for all. Her easy smile was infectious and would light up any room she was in. Even strangers couldn’t help but have their day brightened by her smile and gentle wave hello. Her frail health these past eight years did nothing to tarnish her demeanor and she was seldom without that smile and a thank you for everyone helping her.

Mary and Dominick are true examples of a lifelong love as they had recently celebrated their 70^th anniversary.

She will be greatly missed by her family.
