Obituary of Mary J Medicus

Mary Justice Medicus, 93, of Conshohocken, PA, passed away on April 2, 2023  surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 23, 1929 to Carl and  Margaret (Fitzimmons) McPherson in Lancaster, PA. She is predeceased by her  older sister, Shirley.  

Mary attended Ursinus College where she met her husband, Floyd Justice Jr.  Mary and Floyd married in 1951 and raised three children, Jeffrey, Steve and  Peggy, on Dechert Road in Conshohocken. Floyd was a founding member of  

Ply-Mar Swim Club where Mary had many friends and enjoyed swimming most  of her life. 

Mary was a social worker, teacher’s aide, and volunteer and at the age of 50  became a nurse. She spent 15 years taking care of cancer patients and their  families. She made a difference. 

Floyd passed away in 1990, and in 1992 Mary married Joseph Medicus.  They enjoyed many years together before Joe passed away in 2010. 

Mary was a great friend to young and old with a smile and laughter following  her everywhere. She was a favorite person to many people. 

In addition to her three children, Mary will be greatly missed by her nieces and  nephews, Bill, Ann, Wendy, Peter, Deborah, Jennifer, Doug, Kim and Sue as  well as by her grandchildren, Sarah, Andrew, Dylan and Shannon and and her  great-grandchildren, Leyton, Kyler, and Lucy. 

A memorial service will be held on June 10 at 11am at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church,  3025 Church Road, Lafayette Hill, PA. A reception will follow at 12:30pm at  Hotel West and Main, 46 Fayette Street, Conshohocken, PA.
