Obituary of Barbara J Beaty

Barbara Jo Beaty, age 86 of Lafayette Hill, died Wednesday August 23, 2023, at Masonic Village in Lafayette Hill, PA. She was born on February 3rd, 1937 in San Angelo, Texas. She is the daughter of the late OC and Jo Bell Cummings. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas A. Beaty and sister, Janice Cummings.  

Originally from San Angelo, Texas, she attended Abilene Christian College. She met the love of her life who was a captain and pilot in the US Airforce while he was stationed at Goodfellow Airforce base in San Angelo, Texas. They were married in 1959 and began their family in the Philadelphia area.. 

She worked at Philco Ford, transitioned to a homemaker, and then went back to the workforce. Barbara began as a secretary for Whitemarsh Township in 1980. She worked in codes and licenses, engineering, zoning, and the fire marshal's office. She retired in 2013 after 33 years of administrative service to Whitemarsh Township. Barbara was a part of the Telephone Pioneers in Concho Valley, Texas, and Whitemarsh Jr Women's Club. For years, she was a participant in the Boar's Head Yule Log festival at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill.  

Barbara is survived by her children: her son T. Michael Beaty (Joanne) of Plymouth Meeting, PA and her daughter Carolyn Macrina (Dominic) of Aston, PA.  Her four grandchildren Kristin Leone (Kyle),  Kyle Macrina (Alexandra), Evan Beaty, and Dayna Macrina and her two great grandchildren Emma Leone and Lucy Macrina.

Barbara will be missed by her devoted family and many friends.

Calling hours will be from 9:30-11 AM on Wednesday, August 30 at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. 

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 30 at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Burial will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Caring Hospice and Masonic Village Lafayette Hill.
