I met Bob over 30 years ago when he was involved in politics. He was a man's man, great sense of humor, down to earth, street smart and a good friend. We would often talk about Philadelphia, world events, life and generally tell jokes to each other at every opportunity. His work for the Philadelphia Police Dept was exemplary and appreciated, I often thought he would had done well running for higher office, To his wife Kathy and his family, I extend my most heartfelt sympathies and caring for a good, solid man who lived life well with great family, friends and accomplishments. I will miss you, Bob, good friend, God Bless, take care, be at peace.

It was a blessing to have “Mr. Hurst” as our neighbor and friend for over 20 years. His cheerful personality, quick wit, love of storytelling, passion for his family and protective nature all came through with every interaction that we had. He was truly interested in our lives and the lives of our boys as they grew up under his watchful eye. We loved when Mr. Hurst regaled us with his stories from his past, as well as stories from his travels and family times.
Bob will forever have a special place in our hearts. We’ll remember his joyful smile, recall his boisterous laugh, repeat his amazing stories and know that he is protecting us all from above.
Love and Prayers to Kathy, his children, grandchildren and all who knew and cared for our wonderful “Mr. Hurst”.
