Obituary of Michael David Flemming Sr.
Michael David Flemming, Sr., 73, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at the James A. Lovell Federal Health Center in North Chicago, IL.
Born on September 7, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the seventh of eight children born to Francis Joseph and Gertrude Theresa (nee Miller) Flemming. He grew up in Manayunk and spent his summers in Wildwood, New Jersey. He last attended Roxborough High School in 1968 and promptly went into the military.
He served in the United States Marine Corps, both overseas and at Quantico, from 1968-1972. He worked at Alan Wood Steel as a crane operator before going back to vocational training and becoming a plumber.
He owned and operated PBM Plumbing in South Florida for close to 30 years. Early in life, his pastimes were basketball, racquetball, and softball. He enjoyed reading, fishing, crabbing, hunting, food, drinks and watching his grandchildren grow.
He is survived by his three sons, Michael David, Jr., and wife, Melanie, Joseph Francis, and John Thomas and wife, Illana; six grandchildren: Samantha Rose, C. Emerald, Stevie Michelle, Michael David III, Pepper Winnie, and Jules Alexander; siblings Thomas, Robert, Dorothy, Gertrude, and Jane; and countless nieces and nephews.
Services will be coordinated by the Lownes Family and will be held at St. Phillip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike in Lafayette Hill, PA on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. Viewing 10-11 AM. Mass at 11 a.m. After the service, he will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, 235 Matsonford Rd, Conshohocken, PA 19428. Please join us to say good bye
