Obituary of Leigh A. Dawgiert

Please share a memory of Leigh to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Leigh Dawgiert 43, of Conshohocken, PA gave us the ultimate Irish Goodbye during the early morning hours of April 30th, 2024, at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Sept 2nd, 1980, although that was debatable since her Pop-pop would cut the 2nd off the calendar every year and peek his eye through the hole as he kidded with her that the 2nd wasn’t there.

Leigh had lots of loves: one was for school and not particularly for learning, rather for the friendships she made along the way.  She met her forever friend, Amy, the school nurse, during those younger years and they remained friends up until the very end.  She cherished every text, call, and visit with her dear friend.

Leigh had so many favorite things, none of which were material. She had two “special loves”: One was AMBUCS Special Olympic Bowling with her friend Anne-Christie. On Leigh’s first day of bowling she sat at the lanes crying, her coach Vince saw the need and filled her heart with the love of the game. She had a mean curve ball only using one crutch to stand!. The other was AMBUCS Special Divisions Soap Box Derby, she loved being the pilot that pulled the break while the co-pilot steered, hearing cheers from the family as she raced down the street.

Weekends were filled with Phillies or Eagles games. Either at the games or at home, she was furiously typing away on her iPad to distract her from the nervousness of the play, she was always sending texts and occasionally name calling, Phillies “the skunks” at times. She even received surprised deliveries from Franzone's pizzeria during the game.

Leigh was the Ultimate Foodie and for every sports game, there was a spread, pictures were taken, then proudly sent to her sports peeps.  If there was no game, she filled her time with her Uber driver, Jackie (her best sister ever!), going for sushi, tacos, and trying new restaurants. Other days she loved  spending at home making appies to share with friends and family who she loved to be surrounded by. Her latest favorite fun day was sitting on her brother’s porch enjoying smoked ribs during a thunderstorm…classic Leigh.

She loved her trips to the shore, vacations to the mountains, and Kelly Clarkson concerts, she knew every word to every song. Leigh loved long summer days on the porch and a wicked thunderstorm on a warm night, windows open and everything in the company of friends and family.  It was the memories that really made her smile.  And while those that loved her are left broken, they are gifted those memories she created which will continue to help them heal and remind them to slow down, take a deep breath, and love - because life is meant to be lived, not survived.

Leigh was welcomed home by her Grandmom, Catherine J. Garrison (Kelly) and Poppop, Raymond J. Garrison of Lafayette Hill, PA. She leaves behind her Mom: Catherine Garrison, her brothers: Christopher Sr., James Sr., and John David (Dave) Dawgiert, and her sister Jacquelynn Dawgiert, her niece and nephews: Hayden, Christopher Jr., Nicolas, Daniel, James Jr., Jacob, Maxx, and Xavier; as well as her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Leigh, we hope you're dancing in the sky.
