He not only joins his parents, but also his brothers Joseph and Eugene Sinopoli, and his grandson Jacob in death. He is survived by many nieces and nephews including David, Bobby, Gina, Matt, and Eugene Sinopoli, and their families. He is also survived by his loving sister-in-law Ann Lodge, her husband Joe, and their children Tory and Jarrett.
Albert was born and grew up in Kulpmont, PA, the son of Bruno and Elizabeth Sinopoli. He received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Ursinus College and his Master’s degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in Computer and Information Sciences. He contributed to the programming and early development of sophisticated software, driving innovation at companies including IBM, Sperry Univac, Boeing, General Electric, SAP, and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.
Albert was an educated and devoted father, grandfather, and husband. He had an unwavering love for his wife that formed the foundation of the successful lives of his children and their families. He liked to laugh and joke with his children and grandchildren while stressing the importance of family values and living with a moral compass. He attended Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church faithfully every week until his health began to fail.
Albert loved to learn, teach and share his experiences. He instructed students in computing while employed as a part-time instructor at Swarthmore College and Penn State University. As his children got older, he took his teaching into sports, coaching their baseball and basketball teams. He even combined his programming abilities with his love of family and sports to write software to run an extensive family football pool.
Albert enjoyed tradition and embraced his Italian heritage. He loved eating Italian delicacies such as “soupie”, tadalli, braciole, wedding soup, and pizzelles. He enjoyed sporting events and was an avid fan of both the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies. Albert enjoyed playing billiards (pool) since he was a youth and liked games of strategy. Other traditions he created included an annual easter egg hunt, Christmas Eve fish dinner, yearly family photo calendars, and poker nights. He will be missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Plymouth Meeting, PA on Friday May 10th at 11:00am.
