Obituary of Mark A. Consorte
Mark Anthony Consorte, 66, of Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania passed away on May 17, 2024, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Lorraine (nee Taylor); son, Michael Consorte (Maureen) of Plymouth Meeting, PA; daughter, Anna Consorte of Lafayette Hill, PA; and mother, Florence Consorte (nee Sacchietti) also of Lafayette Hill, PA. His grandson, Christiano Consorte, is his pride and joy. Also surviving him are his sister, nieces, and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Nello Consorte, and brother-in-law, Larry Taylor. His extended family and friends will sorely miss him.
Mark was born in Philadelphia, PA, to Florence and Nello Consorte. He grew up in North Philadelphia (affectionately called the “Old Neighborhood”) and in Roxborough, where he met his long-time best friend Joseph Sokolek whom he remained close with until his passing.
Although his active tenure was cut short in 2004, he was a well-regarded and proud member of the Steamfitters Union, Local 420 for over 40 years. He maintained closest of friends with many fellow retired steamfitters and cherished the time spent with each. Mark was honored that his son, Michael, chose to be a similar tradesman.
Mark was an exceedingly passionate Philadelphia sports enthusiast and got no greater joy than wearing the Green on any given Sunday. The Eagles’ Superbowl win brought unfounded joy to Mark which he was so happy to share with his family. His daughter, Anna, an equally passionate fan, often went toe-to-toe with him on debating team statistics and game plan analysis and strategy.
Mark’s home away from home was on Osborn Island, a place he immensely enjoyed with his family and friends. Sunsets were his favorite part of the day there. He got such joy from tinkering, crabbing, and fishing and sharing time with the kind and generous Osborn Island community.
A Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, May 30 , 2024, at 11:00am, at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Family and friends may visit from 9:30 to 11:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mark’s name to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Cardiovascular Medicine Fund Giving to Penn (upenn.edu).
