Obituary of Evelyn A. Thomas

Evelyn A. (Beck) Thomas, age 99 of Lafayette Hill PA, died Wednesday (2/24) at her daughters home in Lafayette Hill surrounded by her family. Mrs. Thomas was born in Phila., PA, the daughter of the late William and the late Anna Ragan Beck. wife of the late Walter J. Thomas who died in 1991. Evelyn was a former resident of the Olney section of Phila. and attended Saint Helenas Church and had also lived in Flourtown Pa. and attended Saint Genevieves Parrish. For a number of Years Evelyn resided with her daughter in Lafayette Hill and Attended Saint Philip Neri Parrish. In her younger years Evelyn was very active in vaudville along with her father and were known as Beck and Regan which were a singing and dancing duo. Her love for dancing took her around the United States hob knobbing with many celebrities in her day . In her later years she settled down with her late husband Walter and took a job as an office clerk.For many years she volunteered at the election poles at Saint Thomas Church. Her hobbies included painting, crocheting, cooking, dancing, playing the guitar and organ along with playing cards and visiting the casinos. She enjoyed summering in Atlantic City and Brigantine where she loved to fish and crab with her family. Evelyn was always very proud of her grandaughter and her 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter: Patricia Thomas-Geppert of Lafayette Hill, PA Grandaughter, Patricia G. Haber (Mark) of Lafayette Hill, PA; 4great Grandchildren-Mark,Ryan,Kyle,Victoria, also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends may call Monday 3/1/2010 from 9:30-11AM AT Saint Philip Neri Church, Lafayette Hill Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am . Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Lower Merion.
