MARCIA KERR QUILL
Marcia Kerr Quill, 72, of Wyndmoor died after a sudden illness on July 9, 2013. Born in Arlington, Ma., she graduated in 1963 from Hood College, Frederick, Md. with a degree in literature. In her early years in Philadelphia, she was a copywriter for N. W. Ayer & Son. Later she was instrumental in fund raising for the Wm. Penn Charter School for a number of years and was an eager participant in the Penn Charter Parents Choir. More recently, she was involved in the school's "Elder and Child" program. She was also instrumental in staging art exhibitions at The Springside School and Penn Charter. An enthusiastic tennis player at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, she won the "Every Players Cup" in 1998. In recent years, she sang in the Academy Chorale as a second alto in musical presentations at Gwynedd Mercy College. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Gerald D. Quill of Wyndmoor; children Kevin Whelan Quill of Columbia, Md., Shannon Savage Quill and son-in-law, Brian D. Miller, of Washington, D. C.; and grandchildren Liam Kerr Miller and Keira Byrne Miller.
A Celebration of Marcia's Life will be held at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, 415 West Willow Grove Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa. 19118 on Friday, September 20, 2013. There will be a Visitation from 11:00 AM until noon and the Celebration thereafter with a reception to follow also.
