Obituary of Assunta "Sue" Thomas

Sue "Assunta"(Giorgi) Thomas, age 88 of Lafayette Hill PA, died Wednesday (11/6) in the Albert Einstein Medical Center,Phila.Pa. She was a Retired Bank Teller For The Phila. Corn Exchange. Mrs. Thomas was born in New York, NY, the daughter of the late Pietro and the late Palma Fioravanti Giorgi. Mrs. Thomas was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School and while growing up in North Phila. she was a member of Saint Mary of the Eternal Parrish. She also worked for many years in the family grocery store located on Alleghany Ave. For over 25 years of she was an office manager for Saint Justin Church in Penn Valley,Pa.. Currently she is an active member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill along with the churches choir and Womens Prayer Group and Phillipians social group. She was a member of the Red Hatters and loved music and the opera along with traveling. For many years she had worked for the William Jeanes Memorial Library along with The Jack Kustra Nationwide Insurance agency in Lafayette Hill and a secretary. She had also worked for the former Lit Brothers Dept. Store and Strawbridges. Mrs. Thomas will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends. She is survived by her husband Joseph E. Thomas two daughters: Paula DeLong (Fred) of Wayne, PA, Assunta "Susie" Schmoyer (Jim) of Pottstown, PA two sons: Joseph G. Thomas of Lafayette Hill, PA, Louis G. Thomas (Donna) of Whitehouse Station, NJ one sister: Helen Logue of Lafayette Hill, PA one brother: Dr.Amedeo Giorgi of Exeter, NH 5 Grandchildren-Dianna,Nicholas,Christina,Alexander and Ana. She is also survived by many nieces ,nephews She was predeceased by her brother The Rev. Louis P. Giorgi Friends may call Monday 11/11/2013 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham. Memorial donations may be made to the Scholarship Fund at Cabrini College c/o giftplanning@cabrini.edu or the Audio Assist Fund for Saint Philip,14 Forest Rd. Wayne,Pa. 19087-3204.
