Doug -
I enjoyed working with you over the past 5 years and watching you grow "Bright Lights" into the successful business it is today. You were a great business partner and a thoughtful person. You are the only customer to this day who welcomes their guests with the board at the front door. You will be missed.

I will miss my friend Doug. I have more memories to list, but a favorite was when my sales manager, Daniel Mattes and I announced to Doug, "We're coming to your house Dec 23rd, we're going to exchange a gift, we are going to drink a beer and there is nothing you can do to stop it!" Id anyone has seen Doug get nervous, this would be in the top 10! We had a great time, never got invited back....but a great time.
Rest in Peace Doug.

Doug you were easily one of the most talented (and stubborn :)) merchandisers & buyers I have ever worked with. Thank you for torturing me as we walked the Kichler showroom in Dallas, I probably desearved it. Correction I desearved it. I'll never forget having lunch with you and your lovely mom. That day I saw a side of you I never saw to often and it was great. May the peace of God which passes all understanding be with all those that will miss you. God speed Doug.

Thank you for your early and continued support to get Sillites off of the ground. You were always sincere and fair; and it was nice to always have my call answered as though I was the most important person you knew.
I know that heaven is a little brighter with you up there looking down on us.

The thing I will remember most about Doug was his laugh, Doug seemed serious most times so it was great to hear him laugh and to the expression change on his face when he did laugh. Rest in peace, you will live on in our memories and yes the inventories will still be wrong.

Although I never heard your voice or saw you in person, I feel like I knew you just as well as all your wonderful friends. Working with you and emailing you on a daily basis was always a pleasure and I have already begun to miss that. I know you enjoyed working with me as much as I did with you as you mentioned it to the Maxim Lighting family on more than one occassion. Thank you for being such a great person. I will never forget the time you told me "5pm here, time for a cheesesteak ( we are Philly ) and a beer hahaha". You will be missed by many... may you rest in peace Doug.

Doug,
I can't begin to tell you that you being in my life has made me a better person. Your acts of kindness and warming heart is something that will be greatly missed. You always had a way of bringing a smile to my face just when I needed it. You slowly edged your way into my life and I'm sorry that we can't continue the journey together. You were a man who would give the shirt off his back rather than see someone else suffer. People could learn a lot from your example that you have left behind. May your heart be free from pain and the Angels carry you to the other shore. My love for you goes deeper than anyone will ever know. I love you with all my heart. You & Me, Me & You

Dear Doug,
I hope that you can see me wherever you are, I went into Bright Light in KOP today, with the intention of giving you a big hug and thanking you for everything that you taught me. While working for you before I had to go away was one of the most Greatest experiences in my life and you inspired me to be able to think outside the box and taught me how to control my anger and the proper way to talk to the uppity people when they came in the store , you taught me to never stop trying to perfect what I’m working on and goals I’m striving for , these things that I wanted to tell you about are now too late for me to tell you in the physical world but I will never forget you and I will see you when I cross over into the spiritual world, you were one of the greats Doug and the greats always get taken away from this harsh unforgiving world, I believe it’s a higher powers way of sparing us from the evil mean sadistic hell bound humans that reside on this earth, so if you can see me and what I’m writing, know that you were the man and nobody could be you, even if they cloned you Doug , you are and will be one of a kind wherever you are, and you affected my life in such a positive way that I have full custody of my handsome son Christopher Jr. and my beautiful Daughter Sienna and I’m a productive citizen “tax paying” and I know you would be proud of me. I’m so sorry for what you had to have been feeling before your soul decided it needed to leave your body for whatever reason, I love you like a brother, although you were more like a father to me , I still can’t believe your gone I will come visit you when I find out where you rest , and my God leave you Rest In Peace until the day of judgement because your heart was bigger then anyone’s heart that I’ve ever known goodbye for now , nothing but love ....
sincerely Your favorite merchandiser Christopher M Gring Sr.
