Obituary of Albert R. Olivieri

Albert R. Olivieri, age 78 of Whitemarsh Twp.., died Thursday (12/19) in the Saint Joseph's Villa in Flourtown . He was a retired Highway Manager for Whitemarsh Twp. Mr. Olivieri was born in Norristown, PA, the son of the late Andrico and the late Vera Mancini Olivieri. Mr.Olivieri was known to many as just "Al" and was raised in Lafayette Hill. Al was a graduate of Sprigfield High School, Montgomery County. In High School he was a member of the football and baseball teams and was also an excellent ice skater. At a very young age Al was taught by the local nuns to play the piano which he loved. Following school he entered the U.S. Army during the Korean War Conflict and often performed in the USO with his remarkable pianist skills. Al kept those piano skills alive to the end and was known to many, playing professionally at various restaurants ,private parties, weddings and local retirement communities. Al was also an excellent dancer and gardener. He is survived by his wife-Inge U. (Butter )Hammond Olivieri two daughters: Kimberly, Suzanne one son: Timothy one brother: John Olivieri of Lafayette Hill, PA He also survived by his grandchildren and many nieces, nephews. Al was predeceased by siblings-Joseph,Anthony,Charles and Rita Olivieri Farrell . His Funeral Services and Burial will be held privately Memorial donations may be made in Al's name to Saint Joseph's Villa 110 Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown,Pa.19031 Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Family Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
