Obituary of James W. Straub

James W. Straub, age 61 of Bensalem PA, died Friday (1/10) at his home surrounded by his family. He was an Estimator for various Engineering firms ,most recently URS. Mr. Straub was born in Phila., PA, the son of the late James C. and the late Catherine (Grant) Straub. Jim was raised in the Mayfair section of Phila. and was a graduate of Father Judge High School class of 1970. In high school he played football and baseball. Jim went on to graduate Temple Univ.class of 1974 and played baseball in his freshmen year . Jim was a well known magician in the Phila. area and would often do performances for many of the Phila. Sports Teams events and benefits. Jim was a past president of the Society of American Magicians and was also a member of The International Brotherhood of Magicians and the Delaware Knights of Magic. Jim was a member and usher at Saint Ephrem's Church in Bensalem. He also was an avid Phila. sports fan and was part of the 16th Street Shore Family Compound in N. Wildwood,NJ. Jim will be sorely missed by his loving family and his many freinds. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Wixted ) Straub one daughter: Patricia "Trish" Reynolds (Drew) two sons: James Straub (Lea), Michael Straub one sister: Mary Beth Coppola (late Tom) 7 Grandchildren-Connor, Ryan, Keenan ,Kevin ,Owen, Kylie and Kaitlyn. Jim was predeceased by a sister -Cathy Wolarik Friends may call Wednesday 1/15/2014 from 6-8pm at Saint Ephrem's Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA and Thursday from 9:30-10:45am at Church PA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be in the Resurection Cemetery, Bensalem.
