Bettemary Cronin (nee Kelly), passed away May 1st after a painful battle with scleroderma. Born Mary Elizabeth Kelly on December 16, 1924, she was raised in Norristown, PA and has been a resident of Lafayette Hill, PA for the past 60 years, where she was a member of St Philip Neri church. Bettemary was preceded in death by her husband John Cronin; her parents Bessie Kehoe Kelly and Emmett Kelly; and her brothers Jack, Bud, Robert, and Richard. She will be sadly missed by her children Casey and Sal Coscia, and Elizabeth and John Nottage; and her grandsons Cameron and Kyle Nottage as well as her sister-in-law Jeanne Kelly, nieces, nephews, and her grand-pets and comfort companions Gizmo, Hailey and Jack. Bettemary retired from Sperry Univac in 1991 where she worked as a secretary. She enjoyed playing bridge, Scrabble, gardening and bowling. Bettemary will be remembered for her love of children and her lifelong commitment to volunteerism. Her volunteer activities included making bandages during WW II, helping at St Vincent's orphanage, parish volunteering and Meals on Wheels. One of her deepest frustrations was when she had to stop delivering Meals on Wheels to the elderly due to her illness even though she was 88 years old. In memory of Bettemary, please consider performing a volunteer activity of your preference. Friends may call Wednesday, May 7th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Patrick Cemetery, East Norriton. Funeral arrangements are by The Lownes Family Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
