Obituary of B.June Behrman

Betty June (Ball) Behrman, age 90 of Lafayette Hill PA, died Wednesday (5/28) in the Masonic Village, Lafayette Hill. She was a retired Librarian for the William Jeanes Memorial Library in Lafayette Hill. Mrs. Behrman was born in Ledocio, KN, the daughter of the late Bert W. and the late Mahala Moore Ball. Wife of the late J. Robert Behrman for 66 years , who died in 2011. From age three Betty June lived in Aliquippa,Pa. where she was a graduate from Aliquippa High School Class of 1942. She worked for 2 years in the Metallurgical Dept. of Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp and then entered the School of Nursing at Allehrny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. A year later she traveled toBouldre Colorado to marry Ensign John Robert Behrman ,who had been stationed at the Univ. of Colorado Language School. The couple then spent 2 years living in Washington,D.C. and in 1949 settled in Lafayette Hill where the remained the rest of their lives and raised 4 sons. Mrs. Behrman worked for 49 yeras at the William Jeanes Memorial Library in Lafayette Hill starting in 1962 and for 20 of those years she worked full time. She retired in 2011. She was a member of the Whitemarsh Womens Club and was past President of the Whitemarsh Questers and was a member for over 50 years at the Hawes United Methodist Church in Norristown. Most recently she was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church in Lafayette Hill. She is survived by three sons: Robert W. Behrman (Helen) , Michael Behrman (Madalin), James Behrman (Anne) 9 Grand, 1 Great Grandchild , *she was predeceased in 2010 by her son David Behrman (Adele) Friends may call Saturday 6/21/14 from 10-11am at Messiah United Methodist Church, 527 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA.. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 am Burial will be in the church memorial garden Contributions may be made to to the above church or the William Jeanes Memorial Library, Lafayette Hill,Pa.. Funeral arrangements are by the Lownes Family Funeral Home of Lafayette Hill.
