Margaret (Atkinson) Carter, age 69 of Erdenhiem formerly of Lafayette Hill died Tuesday (9/2) at her home surrounded by her family.
She was a Home Maker
Mrs. Carter was born in Phila., PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Margaret Martin Atkinson.
Margaret was a graduate ,Class of 1963 from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.
She was a natural athlete and was active in basket ball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, swimming and diving along with golf, volleyball , tennis and bowling.
Margaret was an avid gardener and loved to travel and music. She was an avid photographer and could often be found doing her cross stitching ,knitting, sewing along with her card and board games. She very much enjoyed her grandchildren often attending their little league games.
Margaret also was an active member of the Saint Philip In the Fields Episcopal Church in Oreland and was a faithful member of their Altar Guild and Home Church.
Margaret was known for her beautiful smile and her sense of humor and will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband-Andrew G. Carter Sr.
one daughter: Lynn C. Miller of Flourtown, PA.
three sons: Andrew G. Carter Jr. of Orlando, FLA., James M. Carter (Patricia) of Ambler, PA, Geoffrey A. Carter (Mary) of Orlando, FLA.
one sister: Suzanne Kiley of Naples, FLA.
7 grandchildren,
She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Atkinson.
Friends may call Saturday Sept. 6,2014 from 9-11am at Saint Philip In The Fields Episcopal Church, 317 Oreland Mill Rd., Oreland, PA.19075
A Celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am
