Obituary of Rowland H. Myers

Rowland H. Myers, age 92, of Lafayette, PA. died Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Chestnut Hill Hospital of Philadelphia. He was born July 5, 1923 in Phila., PA. He is the son of the late Rowland and the late Marguerite (Longshore) Myers. He was the husband of the late Mary P. "Mae" (Hess.) Myers who died in 2011. The Myers family lived for many years on Joshua Rd. in Lafayette Hill but Rowland had also resided at the Spring Mill Presbyterian Village in Lafayette Hill too . Mr.Myers served in the Navy during World War II. He was employed by AT & T as a Office Manager. Mr.Myers was a graduate of Northeast High School and attended night school at Drexel Univ. He was a long time faithful member of St.Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and the Bell Telephone Pioneers. He is survived by two daughters: Catherine Myers of Montgomery Village, MD, Mary Boyle of Broomall, PA and two sons: Rowland Myers of Levittown, PA, Dennis Myers of Damascus, MD. 12 Grandchildren And 9 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Patricia Fertal , a son Paul Myers and a grandson Jeremy Fertal along with a brother Donald Myers. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Thursday, September 24 at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. . Calling hours will be Thursday, September 24 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St . Joseph Villa. 110 W. Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown,Pa.19031. Mr.Myers was a graduate of Northeast High School and attended nite school at Drexel Univ. He was a long time faithful member of St.Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and the Bell Telephone Pioneers.
