William H. Highland Sr., age 88, of Lafayette Hill died peacefully after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Chestnut Hill Hospital surrounded by his family
. He was born January 19, 1927 in Phila.. He is the son of the late William and the late Anna (Hargesheimer) Highland. He is the beloved husband of Shirley (Hazell) Highland.
Bill was employed by Limerick Power Plant as a General Foreman and was a former Union Cement Mason for many years.
He was a Veteran of World War Two serving in the Navy.
While living in Lafayette Hill he coached Whitemarsh Twp. Girls Softball and Little Baseball.
Bill also was an avid golfer and was a long time member of Sandy Run Country Club. He also enjoyed trips to Disney World and his annual summer trips to Ocean City ,NJ,. along with having the pleasure to drive and own his Cadillac cars . Bill always looked forward to his morning visits with neighbors Rosemary and Vince Sirianni.
Bill will be remembered as a kind loving man and will be sorely missed by his loving family and many friends and neighbors and as per his request he wished his funeral services to be private.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley (Hazell) Highland , two daughters: Melissa "Missy" Highland-Leavens (Fran) of Lafayette Hill and Bonnie Pappas (Jerry) of Limerick, PA and his son - William H. "Chip" Highland Jr. (Maribeth) of Lafayette Hill. Brother of Ann "Sis" Herring of Annapolis, Md. He is also survived by his Special Extened Family-, Marianne and Bill O'Connor of Lafayette Hill and his 8 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild.,.
