Thomas O. Jones Sr., age 80 of Plymouth Meeting PA., died Tuesday (3/2 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a Retired Senior Serviceman For Peco .
Mr. Jones Sr. was born in Wyndmoor, PA., the son of the late Thomas and the late Rose McLaughlin Jones.
Mr. Jones was a graduate of North Catholic H.S. in Phila. and LaSalle College where he received his B.S. in Marketing. He was a member of Saint Philip Neri Church in Lafayette Hill and former usher. He was a Committeman for Montgomery County and was a member of the American Legion Post # 100 in Wyndmoor. Mr. Jones served our country during the Korean War in the Navy. Years ago he was a member of the Whitemarsh Curtain Callers. He was a member of the Men of Malvern and was an avid vegetable gardener and loved to read . While working for PECO he was the CO-Chairman for the United Way fund Drive. In his younger years as a boy he was on live radio during the Irish Hour on W.I.B.G. where he sang . He also loved horses and As a young man he competed in Equestrian Jumping competitions.
He is survived by his wife- Elizabeth A.( Habgood) Jones
two daughters: Elizabeth A. Nelson of Wyndmoor, PA., Mary T. Gulivindala of Chestnut Hill,Philadelphia, PA.
three sons: Thomas O. Jones Jr. of Plymouth Meeting, PA., Robert C. Jones of Conshohocken, PA, Patrick M. Jones (Karen) of Boston, MASS
4 Grandchildren- Katherine L. Nelson, Andrew J.Nelson, Ravi Gulivindala and James C. Gulivindala
Friends may call Saturday 3/6 from 9:30-11AM at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA..
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am
Burial will be in the , Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the above Church School,
