Obituary of Thomas W. Jennings

Thomas W. Jennings, Esquire a prominent Philadelphia attorney succumbed after a brief illness on Tuesday May 24, 2016. Mr. Jennings was born in Scranton and was preceded in death by his parents, John Jennings and Gertrude (Yarosheski) and a brother Paul. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Barbara (Ancas), his siblings Jack Jennings Jr., Scranton, Mary Lou Jennings, Scranton, Patricia Kapp, Middletown, NY and Cynthia Pace, Williamstown, NJ. Mr. Jennings was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Scranton, the University of Scranton and Georgetown University Law Center. He was a founding member of Jennings Sigmond, P.C. where, for 35 years, he restricted his practice to representation of Labor Unions. Mr. Jennings' skills have been recognized by his peers. He has been chosen to appear in every edition of Best Lawyers in America since the 1980's as well as Super Lawyers of Philadelphia. He is also a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He has lectured at numerous Law Schools including the University of Warsaw, Poland, the PA Bar Institute and the National Academy of Arbitrators. He is the former President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Labor Employment Relations Association and is a member of the Labor Law Section of the Pennsylvanian and American Bar Associations.
