Obituary of Jeanette L. Polizzi

Jeanette L. (Crane) Polizzi, age 92, formerly of Chicago died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at The Hill At Whitemarsh of Lafayette Hill, PA.. Jeanette was born June 27, 1923 in Chicago, IL. She is the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Genevieve Crane. She is the beloved wife of Sam C. Polizzi for almost 72 years. Jeanette was the loving Great Grandmother to 20 beautiful children, most of whom live in the Philadelphia Area. They were the light of her life. Until recently she never missed a birthday card or Christmas card with a few dollars in it. As a great athlete growing up, she loved to play with the kids. As recently as age 89 she could be found playing dodge ball in the basement with 3-4 kids that wanted to challenge her. The original "short order cook", she would prepare anything each and every child wanted...always trying to spoil each one as much as possible. Having grown up in Chicago, she and her husband, Sam, retired to Florida where they loved time at the beach and the race track. She was an avid gardener. While in Florida, they loved to "host" individual grandchildren on their own vacation which always involved the beach and Busch Gardens or Disneyworld. Dad was the real center of her life which they shared since age 14...growing up only 2 blocks apart in Chicago. They would have been married 72 years on the 17th of June. People that knew her their whole lives, as well as those that would just meet her on a plane ride, always remarked that she was one of the nicest people they had ever met. She had a way of being interested and attentive to others that was irresistible , she was a real sweetheart....The Best. She will be missed by all, but her memory is strong and lasting for the love she shared. She is survived by her husband: Sam C. Polizzi , one son: Frank S. Polizzi (Elizabeth) of Plymouth Meeting, 8 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren, The 8 Grandchildren and their spouses and families: Frank Jr (Angela) Polizzi - Adrianna, Sam, Frank; Lisa Jalot (Fred) - Sarah, Tyler, Ellie, Patrick; Daniel (Melissa White) Polizzi - Michael, Tommy; Kelly Conway (Ben);Caroline,Annie, Maggie ,Ben and Emma. Timothy (Amy) Polizzi - Carly, Jack, Ryan, Sean; Tricia Sanchez (Ray); Leigh Waibel (Cole) - Elizabeth, Evelyn; George Fleming. - . A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 8 at Saint Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. Burial will be private . Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 7 from 6-8pm at Lownes Family Funeral Home, 659 Germantown Pike, Lafayette Hill, PA. and Wednesday, June 8 from 9:30-10:30am at Saint Philip Neri Church.
