Obituary of John P. McCarthy Jr.

John Patrick McCarthy Jr. of Bristol, CT passed away the morning of Friday, February 10th at John Dempsey Hospital. John, age 61, was a beloved husband, son and father. John was born on June 14th, 1955 in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania to Barbara and John McCarthy Sr. John attended Villanova University, graduating in 1977, with a degree in Business with a General Science Minor. John married Denise Meloro on September 17th, 1977. He later achieved his MBA from the University of Richmond - Robins School of Business in 1985. John started his career at 3M in Minneapolis, MN where he worked for over 30 years. John moved to Bristol, CT in 2009, to be President & CEO of Northeast Metal Works, LLC. John was a member of St. Mary's Church in Unionville and enjoyed spending time with family, golfing, fishing, watching Villanova Wildcats Basketball and spending time with his two dogs. John was a loving husband, son and father who will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father, John P. McCarthy Sr. John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Denise McCarthy, and his three sons: John McCarthy III and his wife, Amy Garner; Ryan McCarthy and his wife, Megan McCarthy and Colin McCarthy. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara McCarthy and his eight younger siblings, Brian, Barbara, Duane, Therese, Alicia, Michele, Martin, and Noel , in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
