Obituary of Peter C Funch

Age 74, Peter Christian Funch of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on April 9, 2023. He was predeceased by his parents, Ross S. Funch, MD and Emma Huber Funch. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Zieper, four children, Kristi (Caitlin), Thomas, Jennifer, Cory (Alex) and six grandchildren and his sister, Margaret Funch Brock, MD (Dan). Peter was born in Philadelphia, graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School and attended Franklin & Marshall College. He had a long career in Jefferson Lansdale Hospital’s Information Technology Department. Peter was an avid reader of history and political books, particularly the Civil War. He was politically active and served as Judge of Elections for several years. As a resident of Fort Washington Estates he established the book club, served on the board and was a volunteer in other activities. He was a long time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill, and a member of the church council. Peter was a devoted grandfather. Visitation will be at 10 am at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 3025 Church Road, Lafayette Hill PA, 19444. Service will be at 11 am. Burial at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, Pa following the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
