Obituary of Edward T Biasi
Edward T. Biasi of Lafayette Hill, PA, was born December 18th, 1940 in Freeland, PA and passed away Friday, November 24th, 2023 in Blue Bell, PA. He was the son of the late Enoch and Mary (nee Turri) Biasi. He was the beloved husband, for 59 years, of Bernadette (nee Clunan) and the loving father of Pamela Biasi. He was known as “Pappi” to his only grandchild, his beloved granddaughter, Ava Zielinski. He was preceded in death by his sister Bernadette Dougherty (Charlie). He is survived by his sister Marianne Trovato (Joseph), brother Thomas Biasi, as well as many nieces & nephews. He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1958 and obtained his degree in chemical engineering in 1963 from Drexel University. He later earned his MBA in 1973. He met his wife-to-be at Drexel University as well as numerous, lifelong friends.
Edward began his professional career at Sharpless Solvents Corp. It has been said he made hundreds of cheesecakes in securing his patent for the “process for making baker’s cheese.” Ed then spent 35 years at Sun Oil Company, Sunoco, where he was the Manager of Asset Planning. He was responsible for selling & buying refineries across the world.
Edward was a dedicated volunteer for Big Brothers Big Sisters SEPA for over 50 years. He mentored 5 “Little Brothers” as well as serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He was a lifetime, dedicated Phillies fan dating back to the Connie Mack stadium. If you knew Ed, you know he lived by every pitch of every game & could recall every play of each inning. He loved going to Ocean City, NJ with family and fishing in the Poconos with his brother. He was known to bicycle 50 miles a day, for his famous hamburgers, for dressing up as Santa on Christmas Eve and playing poker every Thursday evening, for over 45 years, with neighborhood friends.
During the last 2 years of his life, Edward resided at Blue Bell Place due to his 15+ years battle with Parkinson’s disease. We give thanks to those who took great care of Ed. We give special recognition to Roxanne & Wendy who cared for Ed like a family member. He will be remembered for being a dedicated family man & a generous, kind-hearted person.
